Special cameo appearance at coffee

October 02, 2015 by Norm Leslie

The Peloton assembled from all points of the compass, some by bike some by car. Although there were two starting points on offer, everyone coalesced at Hatley Gardens before heading along the Goose to Metchosin. No excitement en route, except for several branches straddling the floor of the trail, but the Pelotoneers were good citizens and cleared the offending detritus.

The pace was such that we had conversation along the way - including Ringo's upcoming appearances in BC, and the pitfalls of potential politicians having Facebook accounts.

The Broken Paddle was the preferred coffee stop - we sat out back under overcast skies. Guest of honour was Jack who has been on the injured list for an extended period of time. Rather than garnering any sympathy, Jack was on the receiving end of a some good natured ribbing! With the Transportation Ministry announcement that winter had arrived, there was some discussion on what tyres were needed when driving outside Victoria - for the official word go here, here and here.

The VW shenanigans were once again on the menu - the official test vehicles had the mirrors removed and the door seams taped over.

Staying with recalls, John shared information on bicycle recalls - while there you may want to explore other aspects of this serious cycling site.
