Heave ho me hearties

December 01, 2015 by Norm Leslie

Four riders met under grey skies at Michells and proceeded to the formidable Lands End Road route of endless leg aching hills. Facing stiff winds and cool conditions nary a ray of sun warmed our miserable souls. {Apologies for the poetic licence]. Staggering breathless into Deep Cove Market parking, these four hardy riders encountered three fresh faced lads who came the alternate route from Lochside and across Wain Rd., passing under the seasonal decorations on the tree lined road.  Perfect timing as the two groups arrived within minutes of one another having survived the snow! After a great coffee break 5 riders headed to Van Isle Marina to view the McNeill’s latest 40 ft addition to the family of toys, captured in James' photos. Very nice boat, plenty of party room as we noted to Jim repeatedly. No rain was encountered on any of the ride so we felt we dodged a bullet. The trails and roads were notably quiet today. We are all looking forward to the Christmas lunch on Friday at Swans.
