June Co-Ed

June 07, 2015 by Norm Leslie

What a glorious day for the Co-Ed Bike Ride - sunny, warm, little or no wind!

The "official" starting point for the ride was Lochside Park, because there would be lots of parking, or so the organiser claimed. When he arrived accompanied by Sheila, he begged forgiveness for his grave error!!

There were eleven in the Peloton - we let Bob join us because Mary Rose was in Thunder Bay. Riders were in a very positive frame of mind, relishing the wonders of life in Victoria. The only grumble that could be heard was about how busy the trail was - filled with cyclists, walkers and equestrians, who have to work from Monday to Friday!!

The Ocean Festival was on in Sidney making it a challenge to find a coffee shop capable of accommodating a table for 11. Fortunately, there was an excellent Plan B - take-out coffee and a seat on the bench in the Sidney Bandshell Park, with Mt Baker visible in the distance. What was there not to like?

With some reluctance we got on our bikes to make the return journey leaving Cy and Casey to do some gallery browsing.

A great ride with great company
